WHY THIS EXISTS
Formal recognition for students
For the past few years, many students have asked if their study with All Things Vedic could be formally recognised. Some prefer an informal approach and some prefer a more formal process, that leads to a qualification. I want to support both!
This Diploma program brings two of my main programs together. "Laying the Foundations" gives you the language of Jyotish and "Applied Vedic Astrology" teaches fairly advanced techniques for chart interpretation. Students who complete both become eligible for the Post Graduate Diploma in Vedic Astrology.
Four cohorts have studied with me. I have spent over 25 years working with Vedic Thought, Data Science and human transformation.
-
I have a PhD in Vedic Astrology, Sree Maharshi College of Vedic Astrology, Udaipur
-
I have a gold medal in Business Analytics and Data Science from the Indian School of Business
-
I have 25+ years of study, teaching and practice in Vedic sciences
-
I am based out of Auroville (Tamil Nadu) in India
My teaching rests on the view, that Astrology should help you understand yourself better, and help you make better choices. It is not meant to create fear or make you feel trapped by fate.

THE 2-YEAR PATHWAY
One journey. Two stages.
The diploma is a milestone, not the only reason of this journey. The deeper purpose of Jyotish is to use it as a tool of self-understanding, self-knowledge and self-growth, empowering you to live more responsibly and for making better choices.
Year 1 · From September 2026
Laying the Foundations - 101
You will start from the very beginning. You will learn the basic language of Vedic Astrology through 4 pillars - Astrology, Astronomy, Vedic Mythology & Indian Philosophy - to begin reading your own birth chart. It will have live weekly sessions, small mentor-led sessions as well as in-person retreats on the five Elements. You will start interpreting your own birth chart, and use it as a mirror to better understand yourself. For more details of 101, see this.
Year 2 · From September 2027
Applied Vedic Astrology - 102
In the second year, you will move from "knowing" concepts to applying them to birth charts. You will study the core techniques Astrologers use to give consultations, including the Signs, Dashas, Avasthas and Balas using case studies and guided chart interpretation. It will have live weekly sessions, small group sessions with your peers as well as in-person Retreats on the nine Grahas of Vedic Astrology. This year prepares you to read the charts of others with care, responsibility and depth. For more details of 102, see this.
Postgraduate Diploma in Vedic Astrology · Jyotish Shastri
Once you successfully complete both years, you will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma through Sree Maharshi College of Vedic Astrology (registered with Niti Ayog, Government of India). The diploma supports, and offers formal recognition so you can teach, consult and continue further study in Vedic Astrology.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Postgraduate Diploma in Vedic Astrology?
It is a formal diploma pathway in Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish Shastri. Students become eligible after completing both years of study, assignments, chart readings, case studies and examinations.
Does this allow me to practise astrology professionally?
The diploma provides a formal qualification in Vedic Astrology and can support your credibility if you choose to offer consultations. Astrology is not a licensed profession in many places, so students should also follow local rules, ethical standards and their own level of readiness.
Will there be an exam at the end of the year?
Assessment in this program goes beyond a final examination. Learners will be evaluated through a combination of participation, academic understanding, and practical application. The program is designed to assess not only academic knowledge of astrological principles, but also the ability to apply them thoughtfully, communicate insights clearly, and integrate learning through direct experience.
I am new to Vedic Astrology. Can I begin with 101?
Yes. Year 1 starts from the beginning. No prior knowledge of Astrology, Astronomy or Sanskrit is required.
I have already completed Year 1. Can I join 102 ?
Yes. If you have completed Laying the Foundations or equivalent foundational study with All Things Vedic, you can apply for Year 2 directly. Your enrolment can be confirmed after a short call.
Are retreats mandatory?
Retreats are strongly encouraged because they are a key part of the learning. If you miss a retreat, you may be able to attend the same theme with a future cohort, subject to availability.
Is this a prediction-focused program?
No. This program teaches Jyotish as a system of self-knowledge, awareness and responsible choice. The chart is treated as a map of tendencies, not a fixed verdict.
Will the classes be live or recorded?
The course will be delivered through live sessions to allow for real-time interaction, Q&A, and personalized guidance. Recordings of all sessions will be provided for those who can't attend live, so you can review the material at your own pace.
How much time should I dedicate weekly to the course?
Apart than the regular 2-hour weekly calls, students spend 1-2 hours per week on class activities, including assignments, and self-study. This will vary depending on your personal pace and how much time you wish to spend on practice.
What if I can’t attend a live class?
No worries! All classes will be recorded and available to you within 24 hours. You can watch at your convenience and still participate in class discussions.
Can I join if I’m not located in India?
Absolutely! This course is designed to be accessible to students worldwide. All sessions will be conducted online, and you can participate from anywhere in the world. However, the retreats wont be accessible unless you are willing to travel, as these will be in person. If for any reason you cannot attend a retreat, you can join the next time we offer the same retreat.
How do I get personal feedback on my work?
You will receive personalised feedback through class interactions, assignments, and optional 1:1 coaching sessions. You’ll also be able to ask questions and get guidance during the live sessions.
Is there a refund policy?
I offer a 14-day refund policy if you feel the course isn’t a good fit for you after attending the first few sessions. Please reach out to us within this time frame, and we’ll gladly process your refund.
How can I enrol in the course?
To enrol, simply click the “Register Now” button on this page and complete the registration form. Once your payment is processed, you’ll receive access to the course and schedule.
Program guidelines, terms and conditions
1. Practice before reading charts of others
Students are requested not to read (or even see the) charts for others until they have completed at least three supervised practice sessions with me. For this, I will share my birth details and expect you to conduct three readings. This helps build confidence and ensures you are ready to take on the responsibility of reading charts for others.
2. Webcam on, mic off
Keeping your video on during live sessions is strongly encouraged. It supports engagement, improves learning, and helps build connection within the group.
3. Attendance
Live attendance is required for students who wish to receive certification. If you are not applying for certification, you may choose to learn through recordings. Occasional absence is understandable, but consistent live participation is expected for certification.
4. Use of course material
All videos, recordings, and course materials are provided strictly for personal learning. They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or shared in any form without prior permission, even with fellow learners.
5. Access to live sessions & recordings
Access to live sessions and recordings is limited to the enrolled participant only. Sharing access with others, in any form, is not permitted. You are responsible for ensuring that the material remains protected.
6. Community Conduct (WhatsApp Groups)
Students will be added to WhatsApp groups for learning and discussion. These spaces are meant for meaningful engagement related to the program. Please be mindful of what you share and avoid unrelated content.
7. Financial commitment
The program follows a sliding scale based on trust. You are expected to choose a contribution that reflects your capacity, without misuse of the model. Once agreed upon, your commitment stands, and a seat is reserved for you based on this agreement. All payments must be made as per the agreed schedule. In case of non-payment or delays without prior discussion, I reserve the right to discontinue your participation from the program.
8. Credit & acknowledgment
If you share your work publicly (articles, posts, videos, etc.) based on what you have learned in this program, please give appropriate credit to the program and to my guidance.
9. Learning Pace & Patience
Beyond the weekly sessions, please set aside time for self-study and reflection. This is essential for deeper understanding. This is a long-term learning journey. I am committed to teaching and guiding you through this process, and I expect a sincere commitment from your side as well. It is a gradual and layered learning process. I request your patience as concepts are introduced and built over time.
