What happens when fiery Mars starts moving backward in the sky? Actually, 'appears' to start moving backward.. It's time to find out! Mars will retrograde from 7-Dec till 23-Feb-2025, in the sign of Cancer (Kakataka), in the Nakshatras of Pushya and Punarvasu. Retrograde time is when we need to look within, and reassess something about us.. But what exactly?
Normally, Mars is all about action and energy, but when it goes retrograde, it's time to pause a bit. You might feel like your usual energy has dialed down a bit, making you think twice before jumping into tasks, or arguments!
Now one of the traits of Pushya Nakshatra is about nurturing and supporting others. It is symbolized by the udder of a cow, that which provides milk (nourishment) for humanity. With Mars retrograde here, it's a great time to rethink how you take care of yourself and others, maybe finding new ways to boost your health and comfort at home.
Punarvasu Nakshatra is about getting a second chance. It loves to bring freshness to life, like opening new windows, and bringing in fresh growth. Mars turning retro here might mean re-doing or re-fixing things that you thought were done and finished..
Both these Nakshatras are in Cancer, a Sign focussed on feelings and home-related matters. So, Mars retrograde here may make you focus on family and emotional security more than usual.. Protecting and connecting deeply with your loved ones..
All of this is asking us to take a break, fix what's not working in our lives, especially at home, and make sure we're really ready before we charge ahead. It’s a perfect time to mend relationships, rethink our goals, and make sure we’re on the right path, by addressing matters on the home front.
